Flynn's Baptism

Today Flynn was baptised. It was a lovely day shared with family and friends.

Even Nana was here! She arrived yesterday as a suprise for Flynn's special day. Nobody but daddy knew she was coming. Dad picked Sam up from kindy and took him to his work. While they were there Morgan (who works with Daddy) asked Dad and Sam if they'd be able to pick up a package at the airport. Sam thought this was a good idea and that maybe Dad could get a coffee and Sam could have a bottle of water when they were there.

"Oh my goodness, its Nana" he said when Nana appeared off the plane. Then he bought the package home and showed it to Mum, Lachie and Flynn. Everybody was very very excited! Nana picked Kate up from after school care and Kate also got a wonderful suprise. It was all pretty amazing.

Flynn got all dressed up for his special day in this beautiful gown. This was his Great Gran's and is over 96 years old. Great Gran, Grandma, Kate and Lachie are some of our family who has worn it too. It is very special.
Flynn's was baptised by Father Jacob at Sacred Heart church, next to Kate's school, at 10am. Kate's class, Room 1, came along to help us celebrate.

They were really wonderful and sung a lovely blessing song fo Flynn to begin the service.

Father Jacob, then Mum, Dad and Chrissie put a wee cross on Flynn's forehead
Flynn has two lovely Godmothers. Chrissie who represented them both today and Aunty Faith who is in Rotorua.
Kate did a reading called "Let the children come". She read beautifully and made everyone very proud.
Uncle Andrew, Max, Emma and Aunty Catherine came along, and Rachel and Ruby were there too.
Room 1 shared some very thoughtful prayers. They are a very clever bunch of readers!

Special cuddles from a very special Nana!
Father poured the water over Flynn's head.
and then he lit Flynn's baptism candle.

Oliver and Emily came with their mum Mel. Here they are talking to Ruby. Mel took all of these lovely photos. We think she did a great job. Thank you Mel!
Our lovely family.

The yummy baptism cake. What a treat!

A huge Thank you to Room 1 and their wonderful teacher Miss O'Neill, and to all our family and friends who came along, or sent cards, presents and messages to help us make this occasion so special!
